Wellness

Wellness is a hot topic, and it should be, given that a strong Wellness strategy today could assist in improving employees’ health and associated benefits costs in the long run. Not to mention that a good wellness strategy can also reduce absenteeism and increase productivity.

A good place to start developing a wellness strategy is identifying the key health issues currently facing your staff and the trends expected as your population ages. To start this discussion with our clients, we utilize the prescription drug claims data from the drug card provider, health risk assessments, and disability claims reporting to extract meaningful information to assist in gaining a better understanding of the health issues facing our client’s employee population. We then work with our clients to source the appropriate programs, services, and development of targeted education initiatives through their group insurance carrier, Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP), community programs, and other third parties to provide education to employees to help reduce their risk of the health issues that are most prevalent for the employer.

In addition to targeted education, there are also other wellness initiatives and programs that can be launched for employers through third parties to promote improving lifestyle activities such as working out, eating well, sleeping more, etc. in the form of company wide contests and campaigns. We assist our clients in selecting the appropriate programs and providers to meet their wellness goals.
